here we go again

well seems like Ernesto, the first storm of he season, is going to hit us tonight. Yesterday we spent the whole day in preparations, the worst was the gas line,Oscar spent 1.5 hrs. in the line to get a full tank, but after last year's experience it was worth it. I hope we don't lose power very early. There is no school today or tomorrow so we have to entertain the kids. Oscar's trip to Oralndo was moved to Friday... well let's see how it goes.
We are prepared and waiting... well no shutters yet, still deciding if we are going to put them up.

I've been away for 2 weeks...

...I traveled to Mexico. My sister had a surgery and I went there to help her and take care of her while she was in the hospital. This trip was a very good one. I got to spend time alone with my sister, we laughed a lot, we also cried remembering old times. We went to vivit my parents tomb and had a Mass in their memor one day before the surgery. The days in the hospital weren't bad either. She had a great recuperation and everything went well so we even enjoyed them. July, my best frind since we were 12 that now lives in Minnesotta, went to Mexico too to visit her mom so we also got the chance to spend some time together, I even had time to visit the Zocalo (the place that is now taken by the people that disagree with the presidentisl election results), I took some great photos there of all the movement and protests and I also took other ones of typical mexican things and the Cathedral.
Here are some of the nice ones ( no protest stuff)

Frist Day of School 06-07

Monday was Ana Paula's and Santi's first day of school. Santi is going to Pau's school, he si big now (well that's what he says). Ana Paula had a hard time finding out that she is ot with Isabella her dear friend but she likes her teacher. Her classroom is right beside Santi'. Santiago's teacher is a witch (I hope she never reads my blog) but with the other kids, she seems to like Santiago and she keept on telling him how handsome he is. I think she likes him because he is the only kid in his classroom that doen't cry and didn't had a hard time letting us go the first day. Actually he didn't care! all the kids were holding their parents legs but Santi... nope he waved good bye, kissed us and went to explore all the room. He turned on the computer and started playing. When we picked them up Ana Pau was more happy, she is with Isabella in french so they get to see each other, plus she made a new friend. Santi was all happy, when he left the room he asked his teacher where was his homework! on the other hand Ana Pau didn' ask for homework but she got homework. I am glad they are back to shcool, what I didn't missed at all was homework and all the tragedy that it involves.... well it is just the beginning of the year so I better get used to it.
Here are the official back to school pictures.

Vacations!!!....finally

I've been wanting/needing to go on Vacations since 2 months ago. We wanted to join the Irvine clan to go to Sarasota but it was not possible. So Oscar surprised us this weekend inviting us over to Ft. Myers. We were here last year for a weekend and love the place so he decided to repeat this year.
We drove yesterday morning, after leaving Zack (it was a drama because they didn't want to leave their friend). An we went straight to the marina to get a Pontoon boat for a few hours. It was very cloudy and we thought our adventure was going to be ruined but it did not.
We got to drive fast the boat, we saw eagles, pelicans and wild dolphins! it was absolutely beautiful. We saw almost 7 of them. We tried to fish a little but we got stucked on the sand, and the captain was very mad trying to get us out! We stoped on another spot but because of the lack of patience from all the members of the adventure.
On the bad part of the thing I have to say that I lost the cap of my lens... I was so mad. But I got good pictures. We got down from the boat and went to the hotel to register and to coll us @ the pool for a while. Then we went out to find a place to have dinner and while driving over a bridge we saw this beautiful sunset. The car was driving fast so I only could get a couple of pictures. But tonight we have a photo shot @ the beach.
Here is my family enjoying the boat and one of the tons of pelicans that posed for my lens
