I am sad, really sad

We take life for granted, we think that those who we love will be around forever, it's hard to know that it is not true, life goes on no matter what. I have a huge whole in my stomach and all of a sudden a reallity that I have is hitting me.
My mom is not feelling well, her hep c is deteriorating her really fast. I thank God that she could live many years with it.
Tomorrow I am traveling to Mexico to be with her and my siblings. This is so hard.

Santiago decided to grow up

This past Sunday July 10th. Santiago decided it was time to grow up. After a lot of frustraiting attempts to potty train him I finally gave up. This Sunday I talk to him and told him that he would not be able to go back to school like his sister if he didn't use the potty but I knew it wouldn't work. Anyways I put him up his grownup underware and headed to buy some things, he asked me to use the restroom at the crafts store!! and he use the restroom all day long, and when I say all day long is all day long, we visited the bathroom 20 times and everytime he used it! after taking his bath at night I took out one of the Buzz's pullups but he refused to wear them! he said "bebe no tati", I thought that we was going to wet the bed but NO! we've been dry all week since Sunday! I am so happy. He also decided that it was time to give up his milk all day long so now he only asks for it when we goes to take a nap or to sleep at night! I am happy but at the same time sad, my little Santiago is not a baby anymore, he decided to grow up!

Power is back!

Yesterday night, finally, and after waiting for almost a whole month, we had our monthly crop at Let's Scrap. This is not just another day of crop, we wait patientky for this day, this is our Ladies Night Out day, we talk about the crop and plan many days in advance. My dear friend Denise e-mailed me early in the morning telling me about how excited she was about our crop night, I was very anxious too! we couldn't wait. I got there at 5, a little bit early, to reserve out table, the famous table # 2, the best one in the cropping area. Lisely got there 10 minutes after me and then Denise got there too at 5:30. Vivian was not as busy as always and she had all the intentions to crop, even Tia Z got htere earlier than usual. We had dinner early so we could start to work on our pages, I had 5 projects in mind and was determined to finished them.... little I knew about hurricane Dennis and it's outter bands. It started raining around 7 but it got really bad about 8:30, at 9:30 we lost power... and we never recovered it... The die hards (as Tia Z calls us) tried to scrap with the light of 10 candles but as you can imagine it was hard. Finally our dear hubbies started to call the cell phones to let us know how crazy we were to be out with that storm. They were right, we picked up and ran home. At 3:30 am the storm was really really bad, the thinders and wind were very scary. Of course we lost power at home too around 4:30 am and got it back until 8:00 pm. It was a looooooooong day! Ana Pau and Santi were going crazy without TV! the day was really hot and humid so it was hard to make it without the AC. Fianlly things came back to normal, no major damages in Dade County, a lot of debree, streets closed and many trees down but that's it. Now this thing is going to the Florida panhandle, I hope everyone up there is safe, we weren't even close to the eye and it was really the worst storm I' ve ever seen. hope this things dyes soon.

WHAT A GREAT HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

We just came back form Fort Myers!. The Duran's invited us over to spend 3 the holiday weekend at their condo. What a great weekend we had and what a beautiful place! The kids had a blast! The first day we enjoyed the beach! Santiago chased the seagulls and the waves, he went inside the water without any fear and run up and down the beach, with Daddy behind him of course. Ana Paula, beeing the lonely girl she is enjoyed a lot catching hermit crabs and picking shells, she wasged them, look carefully at them and classified them. I was playing around with my camera trying to capture all the fun and experimenting a little bit with my big lens. We had a great sunset. The second day we rented a pontoon boat and went to the lagoon. It was so fun! we brought our fishing poles and as always we a re a bunch of losers... except for Ana Paula, she was patient enough to catch a cat fish with her barbie fishing pole! she was so excited. The when we were heading back to the marina we saw dolphins! What a great moment! there even was a baby one jumping around her mother. it was a really nice experience. Again we had a great sunset. The 4th we enjoyes the pool and the beach all day! this time Ana Paula caught some clams, did I say some? there were tons of them so she was careful enough to get one of each kind and coler, she observed them for a long long time, Santiago... well he was running around, swiming and waiting for the birds to come. Oscar realxed for a while while I played with them in the water, I even helped with the clam collection! I also had time to play with my camera. What a great day! In the afternoon and after resting we came down to the beach again to have a photo shoot, it was really hot so both the models and photographers sweat like mad people so we only took a few pics but good ones. We saw the fireworks from the condo that is in the 120th floor so we had a great view. Santi enjoyed them form inside the condo as he was afraid of the noise. We drove back at 11 pm and got home at 1 am. We are exhausted and with tons of dirty clothes to wash but we really had a great time. We are very lucky to have the chance to go to such great places. Here are a few of my favorite photos form the weekend.
